Julie Burns
Julie Burns first discovered her AARBF family while recovering from burn injuries at St. Francis Bothin Burn Center in San Francisco. The Foundation’s programs were instrumental to her healing journey, and she is committed to giving back to the burn community. While advocating for all survivors, Julie has a special interest in helping adult burn survivors navigate their own recovery.
Professionally, Julie is founder and partner in Seal Rock Research, a boutique market research and branding consultancy with a focus on life sciences and technology. Prior to establishing her own practice, she was Vice President of Marketing for a software startup in the Bay Area and worked as a technology marketing executive in Boston.
Growing up in Long Beach, CA means Julie has a keen love for all things maritime. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz and holds degrees (M.A., Ph.D.) in Literature from State University of New York at Buffalo. She lives in San Francisco with her husband David and their Wire Fox Terrier, Tommy. In what never seems enough spare time, Julie enjoys fitness, photography and adventure travel.
