In Memory of what would have been Alisa Ann’s 57th birthday on September 8th, during the month of September we are encouraging all our volunteers, donors, and friends to join us by pledging to run or walk at least 5 miles! The campaign goal is to see if we can get in 570 miles as a group and raise $5,700 by the end of September. There will be a prize for most miles walked/ran in September, as well as, most donations raised!
For those of you who may not know, at the age of eight, Alisa Ann Ruch was fatally injured in a backyard barbecue accident in Southern California. Bravely using their tragedy as a catalyst for change, Alisa Ann’s parents, local firefighters and medical professionals joined together and created AARBF in 1971 with the goal of preventing burn injuries by teaching “Stop, Drop, and Roll.”
How to participate:
1) Go to www.charityfootprints.com/aarbf by August 31st to register individually or start a team!
a. There is a minimum donation of $25 to join however we are encouraging everyone to donate $57 in honor of Alisa Ann.
2) You will receive a confirmation email, that will include instructions to download the smart phone app to track your miles.
3) Starting September 1st, begin planning out your runs and/or walks! Remember to keep track of your miles by using the app and bringing your phone with you but don’t worry, we can add miles offline if you forget or do not have an internet connection.
4) Encourage friends, family and co-workers to donate to you (or your team) at http://www.charityfootprints.com/aarbf
