Be Safe Tool More Information
Any fire safety training aims to create behavior change. We want to avoid an emergency and, if one does happen, know the correct action to take.
This grant project, funded by a FY2016 FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant was undertaken to create a tool that can be used by the fire service and fire safety organizations to evaluate effective tools for delivering existing fire safety messages to the public by using practices found in Behavioral Science and to determine that desired behavioral change has been achieved.
The Behavioral Evaluation and Safety Assessment for Fire Education Tool (BeSafe Tool) is a tool that can easily be used by the fire service and fire safety advocates to evaluate their existing programs’ effectiveness in creating behavioral change, or that could also be applied to any new programs they may make.
