Jamie “Barbie” Calnan works as a Legal Operations Manager at a financial tech company. She has previously worked in local government and a non-profit health plan. She learned about the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation while working in fire prevention for the Santa Clara Fire Department. While volunteering at SCFD’s annual crab feed fundraiser, she instantly fell in love with all things AARBF and knew she belonged at Champ Camp. Jamie has now volunteered as a camp counselor for seven years, has volunteered for multiple public education events and weekend trips (Champ Camp is the best camp!), and served on the Council of Advisors before becoming a Board Member. She is currently serving as the Communications Committee Chair.
Jamie graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism with an emphasis in Magazine Writing and a minor in Health Education. She also holds an Associates of Science in Paralegal Studies and an American Bar Association Paralegal Certificate. Jamie currently lives in the Bay Area. She spends her free time listening to the Avett Brothers, traveling and pelotoning.
