Legacy Circle gifts are one of the most meaningful gifts you can make to ensure that California is free of burn-related injuries and to perpetuate essential programming for those affected by burn injuries for years to come.
Members of the Legacy Circle leave a lasting legacy by naming the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation in their will, trust or estate plan.
Gift in Life
Offer a gift of cash, securities or other assets, such as real estate.
Bequest
Provide for loved ones, the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation and others through a provision in your will.
Revocable Living Trust
Control the distribution of your assets, including bequests to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, without going through probate.
Life Insurance
Make a large gift at a small cost of simply giving a new or existing policey designating the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation as a beneficiary.
Pooled Income Fund
An irrevocable gift to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation allows you to receive an income for life at a significant tax deduction. Upon death, the principal reverts to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.

The General Endowment
All unrestricted bequests are placed in the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation general endowment. The income produced by this fund is used to augment the organization’s annual income for programs and services,

For more than thirty years, Woody Reed served as a Captain in the Los Angeles County Fire Department. He witnessed first-hand the heroism of the firefighter brotherhood and the devastating impact on someone who sustained a severe burn injury. He was introduced to the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation in the late 1970s, and remained a committed supporter for years.
From their humble beginnings, Woody and his wife, Louise, had an enduring and passionate drive to help people. They were true partners in the belief that education can lift anyone to new heights of awareness and success.
In 2011, the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation received an amazingly generous bequest gift of $500,000 from the Woody and Louise Reed Family Trust. With education being so important to both Woody and Louise, we renamed our scholarship program for burn survivors to The Woody and Louise Reed Bridge-to-Life Scholarship.
